Minneapolis, MN - (May, 2018) A record number of team members put MidCountry’s Compassion value into practice on May 8 & 10. In partnership with Rebuilding Together Twin Cities, 58 MidCountry team members contributed their sweat equity to help deserving local veteran with home maintenance projects.
The homeowner has lived in the Bryant neighborhood of South Minneapolis for over 16 years. Her extended family has owned the house for over 70 years and she has the distinction of having been born in the house. She is a retired U.S. Army veteran, were she served as an Administrative Specialist and lives with a number of disabilities. Having repairs made to her home give her an emotional safety net and a stable environment that allow her to manage her disabilities and age in place.
The projects included priming, painting & staining, removing carpeting & laying new laminate flooring, fixing windows & doors, and kitchen demo and remodeling - to name just a few.
Just a few hours of time, offered by people who care, provided the support necessary to complete maintenance work that will help the homeowner live more comfortably in her home. It’s safe to say the volunteers’ hearts were as full as the homeowner’s after the job was complete!
A special thanks to LS Black Contractors for partnering with MidCountry and providing the skilled labor needed to complete some of the construction updates required.
