Bloomington, MN - (April, 2016) As current VP and also President-elect of the Board of Directors for the National Parkinson Foundation of MN (NPFM), Steve Snater is passionate about supporting the Parkinson’s community. The goal of NPFM is to improve the lives of those with the disease as well as their families’ lives until there is a cure.
“I see a direct correlation between funds raised and improved lives every day,” Steve tells us. His own family has benefited from NPFM’s services as his father was diagnosed 14 years ago. “When one family member has Parkinson's everything changes for the whole family. NPFM provides free resources, connections, and grants throughout Minnesota and surrounding communities. It's amazing to experience first-hand how we can make lives better for the whole family. NPFM is here to help.”
And help he does. Steve and his fellow board members along with hundreds of volunteers, work daily to support the organization’s mission and inspire others to participate. The Moving Day® walk is the main fundraising event each year for the organization and Team Snater leads the pack as the current top fundraiser for 2016. Support from Steve’s team at MidCountry Bank totals close to $4,000! Continued efforts like this are what made him a natural choice for this year’s Top Philanthropist award. The award was presented to him at a special event on April 14, coinciding with when the I-35 Bridge was lit in blue for Parkinson’s awareness.
Please visit the National Parkinson Foundation of MN website for more information about Parkinson’s or about how to get involved with NPFM. Steve, along with the board and numerous volunteers appreciate your support and look forward to seeing the day when there is a cure!
